Incremental flight testing can make a significant difference in system design, development, and performance. Build-test-build cycles are accelerated when real data is collected from flight activities.
Building on years of naval aviation experience, Fuse expanded test capabilities to include organic flight testing. The Fuse Test Squadron was established in 2019 with a rebuilt USAF O-2A aircraft. Modified for flight test operations, it provides an incredibly flexible platform for sensor and communications systems testing. Four MIL-STD-8591 under-wing mounting pylons are available, each able to carry 300 pounds of payload. The aircraft also includes an internal system rack able to carry hardware with seats for the pilot plus three crewmembers.
Working closely with an FAA representative, we are quickly and safely able to modify the platform to meet unique test requirements. Pods, antennas, sensors, and other subsystems can be integrated and tested quickly and safely.
Based in San Diego, our Test Squadron pilots have thousands of hours of military aviation experience as well as intimate knowledge of flight testing with agencies such as the US Navy, US Marine Corps, NASA, and US Customs and Border Protection, among others.

The Fuse Test Squadron makes use of a USAF O-2A aircraft. Of course, being a company of naval aviators meant we had to repaint the aircraft with Navy markings.
